For the Puffs:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs

For the Whipped Cream Filling:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • Powdered sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
  3. Add flour and stir quickly until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the saucepan.
  4. Remove from heat and let the dough cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and shiny.
  6. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the puffs are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the puffs cool completely.
  9. To make the whipped cream filling, beat heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  10. Cut the top off of each puff and fill with whipped cream.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
